Penance, Part 2.

See? Making up for it with lovely flowers, which need the rain.

Penance, Part 1.

I will draw every day. I will draw every day. I will draw every day, even if I'm at a track meet soaked to the skin. I will draw every day.

The last drop.

It's pouring here today. But only when I put my umbrella down, or run into a store without it. I think the rain fairies are having some serious fun at my expense.

Summer, where art thou?

In typical Canadian fashion, summer (or spring, or whatever you call it around here) has abandoned us today. I suppose we should be happy that snow's not shown up to fill in for the day, but still.

This is me, openly defying the weather.

Out on a wire.

Some days you feel like you're out there.
And on the odd day, you're not close enough to the person with the scissors.

Green Tea.

A good way to start a Friday. And the weekend.

Insurance.

Note to self: it's harder to draw with all of your fingers and toes crossed.

Fred.

This is Fred. He likes yo-yos, black jelly beans and red shoes.

Jordyn's balloon.

This one is for my niece and goddaughter, who turned nine yesterday. She lives in Australia, so I don't get to see her often. But that doesn't mean that we can't still love purple best, together.

Cupcakes.

I love cupcakes. And cupcake icing.

I love them even more when they're mini cupcakes that someone else has made -- because I can have more than one, without doing the dishes.

Sockpants.

When my eldest child was almost two years old, she didn't yet know the word for 'tights' or 'leotards', so she made one up. And it made a lot of sense. When you're two, I suppose socks that stretch all the way up to your waist feel very much like "sockpants".

That's why this little drawing is my first post. It's my inspiration as I look for my 'next thing', which I hope is
as fun as "sockpants".
