It's pouring here today. But only when I put my umbrella down, or run into a store without it. I think the rain fairies are having some serious fun at my expense.
In typical Canadian fashion, summer (or spring, or whatever you call it around here) has abandoned us today. I suppose we should be happy that snow's not shown up to fill in for the day, but still.
This one is for my niece and goddaughter, who turned nine yesterday. She lives in Australia, so I don't get to see her often. But that doesn't mean that we can't still love purple best, together.
When my eldest child was almost two years old, she didn't yet know the word for 'tights' or 'leotards', so she made one up. And it made a lot of sense. When you're two, I suppose socks that stretch all the way up to your waist feel very much like "sockpants".
That's why this little drawing is my first post. It's my inspiration as I look for my 'next thing', which I hope is as fun as "sockpants".
